Covid-19, Black Lives Matter and an increasing awareness of the issues facing under-represented groups has, once again, drawn attention to the disparities between staff in the health and social care workforce.
Indeed, a recent review of our people (including staff with a disability, women and staff from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds) highlighted that Covid-19 has exacerbated issues that are already there.
We are therefore proud to be launching this talent platform in this context. This platform provides a direct opportunity to all its members to proactively control and shape their careers.

This platform empowers colleagues across health and social care to reach their potential. We know that transparent and equitable mechanisms for offering bespoke support to staff from under-represented groups are needed across health and social care. That's why we have developed a national talent platform, built on established timebanking principles, that is entirely dedicated to talent and mutual support.
This platform aligns with the four pillars of the 'People Plan for 2020/21' and 'NHS Long Term Plan' in that it seeks to address issues related to empowering talent through self-development.
The platform also offers an avenue for organisations and healthcare systems to support and grow their talent, build networks, skills, and leadership potential.
