A Central Hub for Support, Learning and Connection.
We are proud to announce the launch of the BCYP (Babies, Children & Young People) Nurse Mentoring Network, a dedicated new space on Talent Timebanking designed to connect, support, and uplift nurses working across BCYP services.
The network has been developed in collaboration with nursing leaders and frontline staff who highlighted a clear and growing need: nurses often face barriers when seeking mentoring, support, and professional development. These challenges can include uncertainty about where to find a mentor, limited visibility of expertise, or feeling that opportunities for growth are dependent on having the “right connections.”
The BCYP Nurse Mentoring Network aims to change this by offering a central, supportive and accessible network where nurses can connect with colleagues, access guidance and support, and build a community focused on shared growth.
Hosted on Talent Timebanking, the BCYP Nurse Mentoring Network harnesses the platform’s strengths: peer support, connection, reciprocity, and shared development.
Members can easily browse profiles, filter by areas of interest, and connect with BCYP nursing professionals who can offer mentorship, experience, or support. The network also provides a space for conversation, collaboration and community-building.
Through this network, BCYP nurses can:
- Connect with mentors across a wide range of BCYP specialties.
- Seek career advice and leadership guidance.
- Build confidence in identifying development goals.
- Form meaningful peer-to-peer relationships across organisations and regions.
- Offer their own experience and expertise to support others.
The network is built on inclusivity and accessibility, ensuring that development opportunities no longer rely on chance.
Why Mentoring Matters in BCYP Nursing.
Nurses working with children and young people play a transformative role in the lives of families, often navigating complex clinical needs, emotional pressures, and rapidly evolving service demands. Ensuring that these nurses feel supported, valued, and connected is vital.
The BCYP Nurse Mentoring Network supports:
- Professional growth: giving nurses space to reflect, learn and progress.
- Wellbeing and retention: fostering a sense of belonging and support.
- Equity of access: breaking down traditional barriers to development.
- Leadership capacity: empowering the next generation of BCYP nursing leaders.
- Collaboration across the system: strengthening shared learning and best practice.
By investing in people, we strengthen the entire BCYP nursing workforce.
