Meet the North West Talent and Resourcing Team

Sally Senior
Sally Senior is Head of the Talent and Resourcing Team, and joint lead of the wider People and Culture Team. Sally focusses on talent management strategies to ensure senior talent is identified, deployed, and nurtured within the Northwest. Sally works collaboratively across the region to build supply and enable the mobility of our growing talent pools.
Prior to joining NHS England, Sally has gained a wealth of experience in strategic HR and people development within the wider public sector. She is skilled at supporting people to maximise their potential and enabling organisations to succession plan through building sustainable talent pools and pipelines

Laura Davies
Laura Davies is Talent and Resourcing Senior Manager. She leads on developing Aspirant Chief Executive and Aspiring Executive Director talent pools and implementing talent interventions.
Laura started her NHS career in 2017 and most recently worked in the NHS Interim Management and Support team as a Resource Lead, managing senior talent pools and working with NHS organisations to fill short- and medium-term vacancies.

Andy Sumner
Andy Sumner is Talent and Resourcing Senior Manager. He leads the delivery of temporary staffing improvement initiatives and succession planning across the region.
Andy joined the NHS in 2010 through the NW HR Graduate Management Training Scheme. Following roles in Merseyside in Acute and Community Trusts he joined Health Education England and subsequently began working for NHS England in 2019.

Steve Maddocks
Steve Maddocks is a Regional Development Manager. He supports the Aspiring Chief Executive and Aspiring Executive Director talent pools as well as a range of regional talent initiatives.
Since starting his NHS career over 25 years ago, Steve has progressed from administrative roles, to management and leadership roles. He has experience in Business Management, Estates and Facilities, and Organisational Development.

Katie Nunwick
Katie Nunwick is Talent and Resourcing Project Manager. She supports delivery of temporary staffing improvement initiatives and talent programmes across the region.
Katie joined the NHS in 2013 and worked for the national team in a variety of communications roles, before joining the NW region in 2020. Katie has been a member of the wider People and Culture Team since she joined the region in 2020.
Talent and Resourcing Objectives
Delivery of talent objectives for the year comes in the wider context of organisational reform at both an NHS England and ICB/system level. It will therefore be of upmost importance to ensure that NHS England deliverables are aligned to ICB talent ambitions and our resource is deployed to the interventions that will make the greatest impact for the system.
