We are the North West (NW) People and Culture Team, which is part of the Workforce, Training and Education (WT&E) Directorate.
Our vision is to create an inclusive environment across the North West, building positive culture and leadership to ensure colleagues feel valued, safe and empowered in the work they do, delivering high quality services for all.

The North West (NW) People and Culture Team workstreams align to the commitments in the NHS People Plan and EDI mandated standards and focus on supporting our NW colleagues, local systems and organisations to deliver these priorities:

Sally Senior
Sally Senior is Head of the Talent and Resourcing Team, and joint lead of the wider People and Culture Team. Sally is a Chartered Fellow of CIPD and has a master’s degree in strategic human resources (HR), with a strong background in HR and organisational development (OD), across the people profession, spanning 20 years.

Abid Dar
Abid Dar is Regional Head of Inclusion and Engagement (Interim), and joint lead of the wider People and Culture Team. More info coming soon.

Programmes of work
The NW People and Culture Team lead four main programmes of work.
People Experience and Engagement: Embedding projects and sharing learning across systems and organisations which improve the experience of our people – this includes leading on grow occupational health and wellbeing, retention programmes and engagement strategies building on a thriving regional community of practice. Resourcing: Key projects to support the effective deployment of our existing workforce, with a focus on reducing temporary staffing and agency spend.
Talent: Building diverse talent pools and pipelines across health and care towards CEO and Executive Director roles. Working with systems to create a talent focused culture, enabling a strategic approach to succession planning, growing adequate internal supply and promoting deployment into roles.

This includes supporting systems with the delivery of the EDI Improvement Plan, grow share best practice, inclusive recruitment and building networks.
