HWE Surgical Centre Programme Director
I am a dynamic and resilient person with a proven track record of managing hospital services, leading transformation, and influencing system strategy. Strong interpersonal skills, a clinical background and operational knowledge have enabled me to flourish, with expertise in strategic leadership and implementing change. From the start of my career, I have been passionate about improving services for patients and inquisitive about effective leadership. My desire for excellence, reflective approach, and commitment to learning has enabled me to transition from a front line clinician into a well-regarded leader within the health and care system.
As the current Programme Director for a system Elective Care Hub, I have the opportunity to work across multiple organisations. This has required balancing, and moving between, the system and provider perspective. I have demonstrated my ability to influence senior leaders, galvanising opinion and drive a complex programme forward.
Previous operational and transformation roles within acute providers developed my ability to drive performance, manage a complex workload, with competing priorities, and work under pressure. Achievements have included leading a large outpatient improvement programme in ophthalmology, theatre productivity programmes, managing critical care services during the covid pandemic and leading the restart of elective surgical services and recovery programme.
As a mother of two young children, and with a passion for long distance running and triathlon, I enjoy supportive discussions around juggling competing priorities inside and outside work and how to achieve balance.
