I started my professional life as a chartered accountant auditing businesses and charities and moved to Christie's the auctioneers and Strutt & Parker the estate agents. After an 8 year career break with my family I joined the NHS in as a finance manager. I then moved across to operations as a general manager (the best (& hardest) training in how an NHS hospital works!) and ran the Trust's contract and commissioning function for 5 years. This then developed into a performance improvement and planning role. I am currently developing the West Essex partnership (alliance) function bringing together our NHS providers, local authorities, voluntary & charity sector to move care closer to home and in a neighbourhood model.
