Elmedina Baptista‑Mendes is the Lead Nurse for the School Nursing Service at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, leading safeguarding‑focused school nursing across Hackney and contributing to multi‑agency forums including the Extra‑Familial Risk Panel (EFRP). A committed advocate for equity, diversity and inclusion, she embeds culturally sensitive practice within assessments and service pathways. She is multilingual (Portuguese/Creole) and a member of the NHS Bureau of Speakers, supporting inclusive engagement with diverse communities. Elmedina is also a community advocate, serving as Chair and co‑founder of Black Europeans, and previously contributed to NHS England’s INSPIRE initiative.
