Assistant Director of Nursing for Children and Young People
I have almost 30 years experience as a children’s nurse, with extensive clinical, operational and strategic experience. Much of my early career was focused on palliative and end-of-life care, with a particular passion around the integration of different services to improve experiences and outcomes for children, young people and their families. I have led community children's services across NHS, charitable, and independent sectors. More recently I worked alongside the National Lead for Community Nursing in NHS England as a Community Nurse Fellow and in 2023, was successful in securing my first Assistant Director Level role in the South West Regional NHSE team, where I work alongside a fabulous team, leading the transformation of children's health services across the South West of England. I have been a Trustee for several charities caring for children and young people with life limiting and life threatening conditions and am currently a member of the Advisory Council for the national charity, Together for Short Lives. I have also been invited to provide regular leadership sessions to post graduate students studying on the Specialist Community and Public Health Nursing degree pathway, for three universities.
