I am a registered Paediatric Nurse with 24yrs clinical experience, the latter 16yr as a Community Children's Nurse (CCN) and in part Lead CCN in Bristol. I now support the Children and Young People's (CYP) Transformation team in NHS England South West, in particular focusing on the CYP Long Term Conditions (LTC), Transition and Complications of Excess Weight (CEW) workstreams. I link in with the NHSE national team, regional colleagues, commissioners and services supporting these workstreams and also support the wider team networking. My clinical experience is invaluable in this role and I am able to support workstreams with this knowledge and with historic relationships I have built. I have recently been successful in becoming a Queens Nurse for which I am incredibly proud. I continue to support the South West CCN steering group and wider network to enable peer support and shared best practice. I am keen to support any aspiring nurses who may wish to reach out and hear more of the opportunities there are available both in operational and strategic roles.
