I am a children’s nurse with 30 years of experience within the NHS, I am currently the Education Matron for Paediatrics and Neonates at Frimley Health. Over the past 15 years, I have worked in education, and I am passionately committed to enhancing learning environments that empower our workforce to thrive and deliver safe outstanding patient care.
My work extends beyond the clinical setting—having contributed to NHS England and the University of Surrey as a RePAIR Fellow, I’ve supported key initiatives focused on reducing preregistration attrition and improving retention. A major focus has been working collaboratively with students to reflect on and strengthen how we hear the student voice within healthcare organisations. In addition to this I led a regional project that facilitates healthcare professionals to understand pathways into educational roles across universities and clinical practice.
As a Professional Nurse Advocate, I am leading the implementation of the PNA role within paediatrics and neonates, championing Restorative Clinical Supervision to embed it as a fundamental part of our daily practice. I am passionate about supporting staff through meaningful career conversations, encouraging them to explore their full potential.
I look forward to being part of this wonderful opportunity to join this mentoring network’s journey.
