The pandemic has caused a numbre of changes across the employment landscape, and flexible working is an area that was forced due to the pandemic. This has changed the way employees view flexible working and has changed their priorities and helped them manage their fianncial pressures. There are still line managers and teams who are responsible for considering and approving flexible working requests, some of which that support it and others that are less accommodating. We know that marginalised groups are not given the same opportunities and face additional barriers. This is potentially another area of inequality.
I am interested to understand what the flexible working challenges are in ensuring that we create a culture that changes mindsets and looks at flexible working as a two way benefit.
I would be interested to hear views on what you have done in this space, or what you would like to see.
