Internationally Educated Nurses Mentorship and Coaching

Capital Nurse and NHS England are supporting London’s Integrated Care Systems to address the underrepresentation of talented and skilled Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) moving to band 6 roles. This campaign seeks to enable support of London’s talent IENs on their career journeys, through mentorship and coaching.

Mentorship and coaching relationships can help with many aspects of personal development including exploration of:

• IEN experience
• traversing challenging situations
• maximising skills and strengths
• taking agency of own careers
• how to traverse the application process
• building networks and connections
• developing leadership skills

One way is through seeking support, and we have created this space to act as a meeting point for managers, mentors and coaches and IENs to connect to offer support in terms of their career journeys.

Talent Timebanking is a unique, inclusive platform for everyone working in health and social care to develop their talent through skills exchanges. The platform provides a direct opportunity to all of its members to proactively shape and control their careers, empowering colleagues across health and social care to reach their potential.

Talent Timebanking works from the core principle that everyone is talented and has experience and skills to share. The platform provides the IEN community with an opportunity to get involved.

When applying and interviewing for senior leadership positions, individuals are often expected to demonstrate how they lead, develop and support others.
